Good news for your wallet: 2025’s key heel trends largely mirror the ones that have dominated much of 2024. (We’re always fans of holding onto what we already own.) But with new ideas already hitting the spring-summer runways, we’re being treated to plenty of fresh inspiration on how to wear them this winter.

Let’s start with the obvious: Slingbacks, kitten heels, Mary Janes, and pointed toes (often in tandem on the same pair of shoes) are here to stay after popping up on nearly every major 2025 runway so far. Their universal appeal—sultry, comfy, easy to style—means they’re still safe shoe trends to invest in for the months ahead. But if you’re craving something entirely new, we’ve got you.

Glamour’s 2025 heel trends wish list

Curved, sculptural heel shapes are popping up everywhere from Tory Burch to Bottega Veneta, adding some dramatic glamour to everyday ensembles. The color of the year is poised to be pistachio green; Prada and Gucci, among other labels, showed spring shoes in the minty shade. And while the office siren aesthetic might be waning, work-coded silhouettes like loafers, brogues, and T-strap heels are on the rise at Chanel, Prada, and Loewe, pointing to more menswear-inspired outfits in our future.

Ready to get your footwear rotation in line for 2025? These are the heel trends our editors are currently obsessing over.

1. Heels on a curve

Is anyone straight these days? (Shoe-wise, that is.) Wedges and pumps alike got curvy makeovers for spring at the likes of Tory Burch, where block heels bulged into bows, and Dries Van Noten, where vamps draped over curved, crystalline wedges. The styles below will allow you to add some intrigue to a simple skirt or a pair of jeans with minimal effort—exactly how we like to do it.

2. Mary Janes

What more can be said about the humble Mary Jane? The shape is still riding a wave of popularity that started over a year ago—and based on the sheer number of straps our editors saw on the spring-summer catwalks, it’s nowhere close to going away. Whether you go classic (like the Miu Miu pair above and the belted pumps below) or slightly cheeky (like Bally’s dramatic runway pair and Madewell’s strappy block heels), you’ll be right on trend for 2025.

3. Slingbacks with a twist

Slingbacks are still one of the hottest silhouettes in fashion right now, but designers are starting to put ever more daring twists on their pairs. At Saint Laurent and Versace this season, that took the form of jeweled accents and eye-catching heels; at Miu Miu, it was back straps that literally tied in the back. Consider this a sign to invest in an extra-strappy pair, one adorned with accents like pearls and bows, or ballet flats-turned-slingbacks—anything to stand out from the crowd.

4. Pointed toes

After a few years of square- and almond-toe domination, pointed toes finally ended up back on top in 2024—and they’re staying put for 2025. Coach and Carolina Herrera are just the beginning; nearly every major label showed the pointiest of heels for spring. (Prada even accented its pairs with equally angular wings on the vamp and back heel.) These razor-sharp styles will keep you on the right side of the trend cycle for the months to come. (Alternatively, we’re also monitoring round toes for a major comeback in 2025; watch this space.)

5. Pistachio green

Pistachio’s industry-wide moment is undeniable: The pastel will be one of the coming year’s go-to colors. Tory Burch, Prada, Gucci, Dries Van Noten, and Simone Rocha showed light green shoes within weeks of each other, while mint also appeared on clothes at Tove, Rachel Comey, and Collina Strada. Get ahead of the curve with the pistachio (and pistachio-adjacent) pairs below.

6. Kitten heels

Kitten heels—sometimes referred to semi-lovingly online as “granny heels”—took the fashion crowd by storm in 2024, and we can confirm that their moment will continue well beyond the current season. Ultra-low styles are easier to walk in, yes, but they’re often more playful and youthful than their taller counterparts—ironic, considering the geriatric connotations. Cool-girl brands like Sandy Liang and established houses like Fendi alike just sent kitten heels down the runway, so you can’t go wrong with these low-key lookalikes.

7. Office silhouettes

Chanel, Simone Rocha, Miu MiuVictor VIRGILE/Getty Images

Career men are known for wearing loafers, oxfords, and brogues; 2025’s most stylish women, meanwhile, wear their heeled counterparts. A big emphasis on office-ready shoes permeated our editors’ favorite spring shows; Chanel, Simone Rocha, and Loewe turned classic men’s dress shoes into statement-making heels. Miu Miu’s heeled loafers also fit neatly into this category, as do the T-bar shoes that have been adopted by fashion people late this year. Add some edge to your office wardrobe with this tongue-in-cheek footwear.
